body odor , ozochrotia, bromhidrosis, B.O. or osmidrosis; doesn?t matter by which name you call it, it remains the same i.e. unpleasant smell of our bodies. The reason behind this smell is the action of bacteria which breaks down the sweat of our body into acids and this is the reason why our body starts giving smell. You might have heard some people saying that it is the smell given by the bacteria which are present on our body. But it?s not actually the smell of bacteria. It?s the smell of acids which is being produced by the breaking up of our sweat into acid.
Body odor is particularly more in the age of 14 ? 16 in case of girls and about 15 -17 in case of boys ( I speak from experience!). These are the respective ages of the females and males when they reach puberty. This is the age which produces maximum bacteria and hence, more rapid action of them and thus, pathetic odor.
